Take It Back, It's Yours:
Why Does God Put Up With Us?
by Kenn Westenbroek (Kenn's bio)

Have you ever stopped and analyzed the minutes of your day? Looked into them to such depth that you begin to see the mountains of things that you need to change? You stop and look to the left and to the right. You look at yesterday and tomorrow. I know I have stopped and thought to myself, “You have a long way to go.” But then I also begin to reflect on the past. Wow, what a past I have had. When God sent Jesus to die on the cross, He also had the opportunity to look forward to the future and see my past. He knew my past before it was ever my past. He so loved me even when He knew the things have done. I did not have a pretty portrait to paint of my first 26 years. I would dare to bet that most reading this column also have regrets and a shady past that they would prefer no one had knowledge of. Do you have these memories that seem to follow you? Do you have some things in your past that the enemy likes to wave in your face?

I have found that God really doesn't care about those things. He so loved you and me to the point that He chose to allow His son to be that which makes those things go away. God chooses not to remember. The enemy wants you to remember those things because then he can keep us from our focus. Our focus is to be on our new man. God's Word says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). All things … not just your future but also your past. When God looks back in your life, He sees the blood of Jesus.

The devil has chosen to not acknowledge the blood of Jesus and also has chosen to not forget your past. Therefore he can only talk to you of the things he sees. The enemy is stupid. Don't give his taunting remarks the time of day. If God's Word says all things are new things then I would interpret that to mean that you also need to forget the past and focus on the Blood of Jesus and realize once and for all that you're past is covered. God has got your back AMEN. So confess that word over yourself and your household and your job and your finances and your health and your ministry. “ALL THINGS ARE NEW THINGS IN MY LIFE” Praise God……………

About Kenn Westenbroek: In December of 1996 God did an incredible thing in the life of Kenn Westenbroek. He turned it around 180 degrees when he came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Since then God has saw to it that no rock in Kenn's life remains unturned. Taking the nature of the old man and changing them to "new things". Getting people to focus on Jesus and not their problems and trials describes the heart of Kenn's ministry. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Kenn's life verse is John 3:30 He must increase, we must decrease.
