Take It Back, It's Yours:
God is More Than We Realize

by Kenn Westenbroek (Kenn's bio)

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. God is so faithful isn't He. God never ceases to amaze me. He is so solid when we are weak. He remains stable and unwavering. God is more to us than just a big person up in heaven that controls all. He has many different faces and attributes that He himself has described. Let's take a look at a favorite passage of mine.

II Samuel 22:1-4
1Then David spoke to the LORD the words of this song, on the day when the LORD had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. 2And he said:
       "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
3       The God of my strength, in whom I will trust;
        My shield and the horn of my salvation,
        My stronghold and my refuge;
        My Savior, You save me from violence.
4       I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised;
         So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Wow, what a description of God. He is our ROCK. Solid and unchanging. He is our FORTRESS. In Him is all the provision that we need. As our fortress He brings into our life all we need to fight off and fend the attacks of the enemy. He is our DELIVERER. This means that you are where you are because He has placed you there. You could still be in the miry clay where you used to be, but HE SAVED YOU AND DELIVERED YOU. He is the God of our strength. Every single breath you take is because He has given you the strength to take it. Every step you have taken is because He has been the source of the strength for those steps. We need to trust Him for this strength. If you want to be strengthened TRUST Him. He is our SHIELD and the HORN of our salvation. The representation of the HORN means power. The shield is a representation of the BLOOD of JESUS. My friends there is great and wondrous power in the blood of Jesus. My STRONGHOLD. This word in the Hebrew is -misgab. This word means – an inaccessible place, lofty, a high fort. Praise God………..He is a high and lifted up place where nothing can touch you. This is safety. He is our REFUGE. This word in the Hebrew is manos'. It means – a retreat, a place to flee to. This is the secret place. This is that place of abiding that I mentioned previously. And finally He is our SAVIOUR. Amen. He has saved us. First and foremost from ourselves and also the devil. All these things to help us see and understand our God.

Take a few minutes or even longer and take the time to lift your voice and thank God for who He is. Stop and reflect on all that He has done for you and thank Him. Let this thanksgiving break forth into praise and then the praises will turn to worship. He deserves to be praised and He deserves to be worshiped. Worship Him. He is worthy.

About Kenn Westenbroek: In December of 1996 God did an incredible thing in the life of Kenn Westenbroek. He turned it around 180 degrees when he came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Since then God has saw to it that no rock in Kenn's life remains unturned. Taking the nature of the old man and changing them to "new things". Getting people to focus on Jesus and not their problems and trials describes the heart of Kenn's ministry. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Kenn's life verse is John 3:30 He must increase, we must decrease.
