Telethon
by John Sherritt (John's bio)

Send this page to a friend

Wind and dust,
leafless trees
arid, sun scorched plains
apparitions spooning mush
To faces without names
Listless, tired, dying children
dirt stained streaks for tears
laughter is strange,
a smile seldom seen
Where faces don't have names
Vacant, staring, hungry eyes
Brown arms reaching out
holding a future of empty hope
For faces that don't have names
Scenes of sorrow,
pictures of pain
Weeping, wringing hands
Man stands still,
leaving to God
The faces without names
