Wanderings
by Linda Rondeau (Linda's bio)

Send this page to a friend

I set my heart toward you, Lord. Goodness dwells there.
But the path to Heaven's gate is thorny.
Bleeding feet search alternate routes; intrusions tempt a detour.

The road to Destruction seems more pleasant for a season.
Rose adorned lanes allure while unholy cherubs wave invitingly.
Resistance lost, I turn around; and yet, entrance strangely thwarted.

Your hand stretches like a fence.
The trusted way illuminates the night.
Even then I linger.
If I turn to the left, Your shadow lengthens.
If I turn to the right, You call my name.
If I climb toward the sun, Your Light is more radiant.

Your Presence surrounds me.
Your Harness of Love will guide me Home.
