Set me free from these heavy chains
the world has draped across my heart!
For my Spirit wants to soar above the clouds
and sing praises to you with the voice of Angels.
Release me from this dark place
that Satan has built up around me.
Free me from the pain and anger that is this world!
Take me away from confusion and anguish,
lead me to a quiet place and speak to my heart again.
Let me be your child--I long to take comfort in your gentle voice.
Lift me up to your circle of light
once again.
Show me times past and feelings felt.
Let me take joy in knowing you like no other.
Rain down your grace
and cleanse me of sin and weakness!
Give me strength to stand
while I feel so far away from you.
Stay with me and draw me close to your heart,
gentle Shepherd.
