My Heart's Desire
by Kaly (Kaly's bio)

Crumbled apple blossoms crackle and melt
underneath my shell-worn shoes
I pause on the words, the Holy words
of wisdom over parchment
and once again, I am transfixed on You

And, I remember how You held me:
I remember how you gave me the words
I begged you for;
I remember
I remember You.

That purple mountain is still out there
distant and jagged, just over the bay
See it now? See it with me, my Lover
and Friend?

Your warmth, Your touch...such serene
majesty and intimacy of the familiar,
yet could it be? Surely, not
on this earth...
You embraced me

Then, You stroke my hair and You ignite
me with the fragrance of Your breath and I hear
mercy ringing out from the hills and I'm
blissfully awake to You and Your presence
and to Your present

Time is just a metaphor.
