Innocence Lost
by Kaly (Kaly's bio)

Tears don't cut it
like swords and knives filed
to harm such treasures...
ones You knew since the beginning
of time....
You knew!

You knew.

Weeping and wailing from Rachel;
Your little ewe-lamb;
heaven cries out for vengeance
but there is none
there is none
but cries
and silence I've only heard
in my own heart.

'Obeying orders'
that's all they said;
'had to do it, you know.'

Blood cries to the blood
and carries with it a silence
born that time can't cope with
and I can't cope, either.

Daniel, oh, my sweet Daniel,
I will meet you someday.
I will know you, my tender brother;
the one not allowed to cry.

Rachel's children still weep
for You to come; but with You comes
tears, silence, suffering, darkness...
not of You...
but in silence we learn
to know You
and You are pleased that such
innocence and doe-eyes still exist
and seek You
in mourning

on this earth
on this terra
on this place
we have to call home
for now.
