Emmaus Walk
by Deb Nelson (Deb's bio)

Send this page to a friend

Journeying down the Emmaus road,
Jesus joined me to share my load.
And though my eyes recognized Him not,
He was the Savior that I sought.

With Him, my troubles, I openly shared,
Gentle eyes and tender words showed me He cared.
He explained the scriptures, beginning to end,
So that I could easily comprehend.

As we walked, I listened and I learned,
Within me, I felt my heart burn.
Later He took the bread and it was broken,
Then I recognized Him, my eyes were open.

He walks with each of us every day,
It's up to us the role He will play
Master, Savior, Shepherd and friend,
He's everything to me, with Him there's no end.
