Kristenea LaVelle A Good Work

Toy wagon
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ;" Philippians 1:6

Have you ever felt as if you were of no use to God? Perhaps you have stumbled upon some circumstances in life that have you feeling a bit down and out and maybe you have begun thinking that "I'm no good…God can't use me…I don't have anything to offer him", or "I just don't have what it takes…I feel so inadequate." Have you found yourself thinking or saying these things lately? Let's face it. There are days that we feel as if we are of no use to God, but in the midst of it there is hope. The Word of God tells us that God is faithful to complete the good work he has begun in us…and that is a promise that we can cling to when it seems that darkness abounds.

Picture this…a child's toy wagon, dented, scratched and missing a wheel, cast away like an old tin can, and accumulating rust while lying in the rain. Now imagine that old beat up wagon is you, used and bruised by the world and cast away as no good. Watch what happens…God comes walking along, in the cool of the day, and sees this little red wagon rusting in the rain. He picks it up and immediately has a plan of restoration and renewal. You see, He is going to create a new wagon from the old one, completely functional and suitable for service. He'll primer all the rusty spots, give it a new paint job and fix the broken wheel all the while preparing it for use again. He does it because that is what God does best. He is in the restoration business.

God desires to pour out the Holy Spirit and bring restoration to all the broken and hurting parts of your life. He desires to bring water to the desert areas and new growth to the stagnant branches, and this is a continuing process. We are constantly being changed and recreated into that complete person that Christ made us to be. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10

So don't let the enemy get you down believing that you are no good and no use to anyone. Cling to the hope of Jesus Christ and the promises in the Word of God, for He has begun a good work in you and He will continue that work until the day Jesus comes back.

"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
Philippians 2:13
