Jesus Christ
"He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God."
Matthew 16:15-16

If you were asked to describe Jesus in your own words, how would you do it? Who do you say that He is? Who have you experienced Him to be? What does it mean to you when Jesus says He is the Way, the Truth and the Life? Your answer to these questions will reveal the foundation on which your faith rests. This is important, for Jesus is in the church building business and He is building a body of believers, not from typical "building materials", but on the foundational belief in His divinity and all the aspects it entails. For there is no other name by which men can be saved, and that makes Jesus unique above all others. It is upon this belief that Jesus is building His true church, one soul at a time.

So, who is Jesus? The Word of God describes Him as the Way, the Truth and the Life, but what does that mean and how can you apply this simple truth to your own life?

The Way!

Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to God. He is the Living Word of God and He came to earth to give us a living example of the way we should build our relationship with God and with others. That is why He is…
The Way we need to walk…
The Way we need to act…
The Way we need to love God…
The Way we need to love others…
The Way we need to pray…
The Way we need to believe…
The Way we need to witness…
The Way we need to put our trust in God…
The Way of righteousness and holiness…
The Way to eternal life…

And the list goes on and on, because Jesus is Jesus and there is none like Him! He is the exclusive Way and because of that simple truth, God the Father has exalted Him above all things in heaven and upon the face of the earth.

The Truth!

Discovering the Truth is a powerful thing. The Word of God says that the truth is a shield (Psalm 91:4) and that it preserves us. (Psalm 40:11) What other benefits do we find when we find the Truth?
The Truth sets us free from bondage…
The Truth brings light in the darkness…
The Truth opens blind eyes, physical and spiritual…
The Truth heals broken bodies…
The Truth heals broken minds/hearts/and spirits…
The Truth brings protection and freedom…
The Truth brings eternal life…

All of these things are found in Jesus Christ, and that is why He is the Truth that brings liberty to the captive and heals the broken hearted. Jesus is the Truth of God.

The Life!

Jesus promises new life to all who believe and that new life flows with the abundance of God. Jesus is the Life…
The Life we should live…
The Life that brings abundant life…
The Life that was sacrificed so you could have life…
The Life that brings new life (born again)…
The Life that restores, repairs and replaces things in our life…
The Life that rejuvenates and regenerates…
The Life that brings eternal life…

Jesus is the hope we cling to and the abundance we long for as we run the race of faith. His promises endure forever because they are Truth and Life for all who trust Him as Savior and Lord.

Knowing how He works as Savior and understanding the fullness of His promises and His power to bring it to pass, is an important concept that eludes many Christians today. If you want to experience these things in your life, then you will have to put in the time. All relationships take time and effort to develop and this one is no exception. Study and application of the Word of God will help you to increase in your knowledge of who Jesus is and that in itself will strengthen the relationship you have with the Savior. You following Jesus will make it happen!
