"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork." Psalm 19:1

"…the whole earth is full of his glory." Isaiah 6:3

How often do you ponder the glory of God as it is revealed throughout the earth? When was the last time you enjoyed the radiant colors of a sunrise or sunset? Did you notice the subtle change of seasons and linger in the presence of God as He painted a brilliant picture against the canvas of the earth? Perhaps you have overlooked these small details because of your hectic schedule or you just simply didn't realize that they were gifts from God. If so, slow down and relax for a moment. Inhale the Spirit of God and let the eyes of your heart open to the wonders that God has waiting for you each and every day.

Take a moment to think of the things that surround you each day. It could be the purr of a cat, the giggle of a child, the smell of winter, a rainbow, the warmth of the sun, the sound of rain, the colors of autumn or even the taste of a crisp apple. God has surrounded each of us with these simple things in life so that we may experience life to the fullest. These special gifts are tailor made to tickle the senses and WOW the imagination, yet we quickly go about life, never giving it a second thought and sometimes skipping right over the blessings that are hidden within these simple pleasures.

Picture this: in the center of a large room sits a long banquet table full of carefully wrapped presents. Each one is a different size and shape, and all of them are wrapped in brightly colored paper. This entire table full of presents belongs to you, and you may choose to open them or let them sit and gather dust. The choice is yours to make; however, the outcome could influence the rest of your life. If you choose to open the gifts each day, then you will be embarking on an exciting life journey full of the wonder and mystery of our heavenly Father. He loves to give gifts that impress and surprise. If you choose to let them sit, then you will be passing up some of life's most precious treasures and consequently missing out on the blessings of God.

I encourage you to sit down today and think of all the wonderful gifts God has surrounded you with. Take time to allow Him to rain down His perfect love and grace upon you so that you can enjoy your life to the fullest possible measure. Enjoy the little things that fill your world, because sometimes the best gifts come in small packages.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…" James 1:17
