Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. 1Peter 1:23

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 4:23-24

Long before the first shades of autumn begin to appear, the crisp morning air is ripe with the anticipation of a change in seasons. Summer gives way to autumn and with it comes a plethora of wonderful new smells that signify this remarkable event. This transformation is a refreshing reminder that the glory of God is constantly revealed in His creation for all eyes to see. It is the birth of a new season and it brings unique characteristics with it for us to enjoy, while leaving us looking forward in expectation of the next season.

We are commanded in the Word of God to take on this new birth experience. It's not just a onetime event, but a continuing process that reveals the glory of God at work in our lives, just like the changing of seasons. This regeneration of our mind and spirit allow us to partake in the divine nature even as we are being transformed from day to day. It is the essence of our Christian walk and so much of our relationship with God depends on our diligence in applying this principle to our every day lives. So, how does this process come about in our lives? Consider this verse: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever." 1Peter 1:23. The rejuvenation must come from our experience with the living Word of God.

We never think of "words" as being living and if we are not careful, we can see the Bible as just "words on a page", but that would be a grave injustice "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12. We commonly overlook the power these words carry. Power to change the inner man and to transform and rejuvenate our mind and spirit so that we can actively participate in the divine nature. Power to bring about the new birth experience on a daily basis and power to defeat the enemy that comes to destroy the things of God in our lives. That is powerful! And that is God's living Word!

The new birth experience brings restoration, regeneration and rejuvenation and you can enjoy the newness of it each day as you are transformed by the Living Word of God. Beloved, purpose in your heart today to devote time and energy in studying the Word and let God reveal His glory in your life as He brings about that wonderful transformation from the old man to the new.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:5
