"And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? Tell me what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few…so she went from him, and shut the door upon her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out."
2 Kings 4:2-3,5

Have you ever felt like you didn't have anything to offer God? You have come to Him in humility and awe and you want to serve Him with all your heart, but you just can't get past all the nagging doubts in your head. Spiritually you feel like you have hit a brick wall and it's not too long before you begin to feel like it's all just some kind of a game Christians play. Have you ever thought that who you are and what you have to offer is just not enough to please God? If so, then you are not alone. Countless Christians experience these frustrations every day. The question is, what are you going to do about it now?

Consider this passage of scripture in Kings. It is a story about a widow who was left with a debt she could not pay and the collection agency hot on her heels to take her sons as slaves. In desperation she cried out to Elisha for help, and he asked her a simple question, "What do you have left?" She responded with, "nothing…save a pot of oil." Nothing but a simple pot of oil, I want to tell you, that's all God needs for a miracle! Such a small amount of oil was poured out and continued to be poured out, until the need was met. God supplied that which the widow lacked, and He will do the same for you today!

Another important point to note is that she gathered empty vessels and poured into them from the pot of oil that she had. She had to use the oil and trust God that there would be enough to finish the job. She had to go forth believing that God would multiply the small amount that she had to offer. We must learn to do the same thing in our lives. We must learn to trust God with the little that we think we have to offer and then watch as He multiplies it to do His work. God is not limited by our lack of anything. He is a mighty God able to do "…exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh In us…" Ephesians 3:20

So, if you find yourself doubting what you have to offer God, then back-up, sit down and have a heart to heart talk with the One who created you. He is waiting for you to trust and believe!

"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through that knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:" 2Peter 1:2-3
