I got up this morning to another ordinary morning. Chances are most of you did the same. The routine is similar, the weather is normal and the status quo remains unchanged.
Ho hum.
But is an ordinary day really ho hum? I guess it depends on what you consider ordinary.
It's another new day that God has made.
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 NIV
It's another day where God remains unchanging
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8 NIV
It's another day that God is there to forgive the mistakes I will probably make.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9 NIV
It's another day that I know God walks with me
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39 NIV
It's another day that God is compassionate
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV
It's another day of hope because He won't come until there are none who will accept Him. There remains hope for all the lost people of the world to find Him.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 NIV
It's another day of God's anointing in my life.
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth 1 John 2:20 NIV
Now that I think about it, perhaps my ho hum needs to become "Thank you Jesus" and "Praise God." Until next time may you come to truly see our extraordinary God at work in our ordinary lives.
