Dear Suzie?
by T. Suzanne Eller (Suzie's bio) Send this page to a friend Dear Suzie: I messed up. I failed God and I feel like I can't ever get back to where I was. I don't think God can forgive me. I'm not even sure if I can even make it as a Christian. Mike, Age 17 Hey Mike, It's no fun falling on your face, but God can help you back up. When we fail God we have two choices: one is to talk to Him honestly about our failure and to receive his mercy. The other choice is to tell yourself that you are a failure and to give up. One choice puts you back on track where you should be and allows God to lead your life. The other sticks you in condemnation like quicksand, and you are not able to move forward. God wants you to succeed, Mike. When I study the great Bible heroes, I see that these men and woman failed as well. They didn't boast of their failure, but they did learn from it. Ask yourself what happened. What was the trap and how did you fall in? How can you avoid it the next time? What can you learn from this mistake? Move forward, Mike. Learn from this. Take responsibility for your mistake and tell anyone that you hurt that you are sorry and ask for their forgiveness. Mistakes can destroy us or they can teach us. But one thing I know is that God hasn't given up on you. After all, you're his kid. : ) Suzie Have a question for Suzie? E-mail her at: eller@intellex.com
